

Event: Goa Study Tour.
Academic Year/ Semester: Semester 3, 5 (2022-23)

Participated by: Students of second and third year
Objectives: To understand the design ideology, spatial arrangement and thought process used to build High security spaces and art & culture of that region.
Brief of the event: The tour was held for 2 days. On day one the visit started at 10 pm at Bombay highcourt at Porvorim Goa, the new high court building combines traditional techniques with contemporary architectural imagery & local touch with the latest engineering features, post lunch we visited Nisha play school and Mario Miranda art gallery designed by Ar. Gerald Dcunha where we observed how a structure can be made sustainable with use of beer bottles , tin cans and use of local materials like red bricks , Jamba rocks and Mangalore tiles can help us build budget friendly yet healthy and curiosity generating school for little kids. Also later that evening we visited historical Portuguese style famous immaculate church and the next morning students visited MOG museum ,at Saligao Goa, where we learnt the historical and cultural evolution of goa from Portuguese style to modern times , the museum was a blend of modern and contemporary architectural styles.
